Unique glass sculpture by Ritva-Liisa Pohjalainen in Nuutajärvi, Finland, 2017.

In co-operation with glass blowers Alma Jantunen, Johannes Rantasalo, Matti Vilppula. Grinding: Heikki Viinikainen

The shapes are processed with three glass blowers. This technique has been developed over many years by the same team. The work is made by hand using different glass techniques, part by part, from bottom to top. In the end, different parts are combined and the sides are ground and polished to fit each other according to Ritva-Liisa’s drawings.

The work of art: height 560 x width 540 x depth 65 mm

The base: Cast glass, width 580 x depth 160 mm thickness of glass 30 mm

Technique: Mixed technique, blown and sculpted.
