The Ice Will Cover the Lake

Unique glass sculpture by Ritva-Liisa Pohjalainen in co-operation with Maestro Mariano Moro and Amber Hauch in Murano, Italy, 2017.

When making a sculpture with multiple colour layers, a very large team of glass blowers is needed. To get the desired layers of colour it also takes many hours in the hot state. The annealing process takes almost two weeks. In the finishing process the entire piece is ground and polished.
