A Lonely Skier

Unique glass sculpture by Ritva-Liisa Pohjalainen in co-operation with Maestro Mariano Moro and Amber Hauch, Italy, 2017.

The sculpture has been blown and shaped with hot glass mass. Bubbles and colour have been trapped inside during the hot process to create imagery.

After the annealing process, the sculpture has been cut and polished flat on both sides to create a lens effect. The snowing effect on the sides has been hand-carved and the “battuto” process has been used.
